Wilmore is located 15 miles southwest of Lexington within Kentucky's scenic Inner Bluegrass Region. The Kentucky River flows past Wilmore heading northwest towards Frankfort and, eventually, the Ohio River. On Wilmore's eastside, the Jessamine Creek tributary flows down towards the Kentucky.
Lexington's Blue Grass airport is a 20 minute drive north, while Lexington itself is only 10 minutes further than that. 10 minutes driving from downtown Wilmore will get you to the nearby town of Nicholasville.
