Why Horse Farm Sales are Increasing Here

The World Equestrian Games 2010 are causing a large influx of capital into this area. They are resulting in a permanent upgrade of the horse infrastruture and other unrelted support facilities.

Lexington, Horse Capital of the World, is a thriving mid-size city, headquarters to several international corporations and home of the University of Kentucky. Of course, Lexington is known around the world for thoroughbred, standardbred and saddlebred breeding and sales operations as well as first class horse racing. The Kentucky Horse Park has become a major draw for all types of horse activities, ranging from rodeo to pony club to polo. Every year it hosts the Rolex 4 Star 3-Day Event, several A hunter/jumper shows, Rocky Mountain shows, and will also host the 2010 World Equestrian Games. The largest outdoor Saddlebred show, the Lexington Junior League Horse Show, is held annually at the Red Mile. Several of the finest equine hospitals are located in Lexington. Many world renowned equine suppliers are also located in the greater Lexington area.

All areas of the horse industry are continuing to expand. The greater Lexington area stands to benefit from this wide moat of cross-sectional expansion. Our local lenders are versed at offering agricultural loans. Loan rates remain near historic lows. Relative to other areas of the country land prices have had a much more gradual increase. Lexington and the state of Kentucky are preparing to invest hundreds of millions into the infrastructure of the Horse Park for the World Equestrian Games.

The following equine organizations have their headquarters located in the greater Lexington area:
